1. Who we are
Bashert Matchmaking ("we," "us") is a personal matchmaking service operated by Bashert Events, based in Greater Boston, Massachusetts. This policy describes how we handle personal information for applicants, members, and visitors to bashertmatchmaking.com. Questions: sandidge.moriah@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
- Application information — name, age, contact details, location, religious observance and preferences, relationship goals, photos, and anything else you choose to share in your application (collected via Google Forms).
- Interview information — notes and, where you consent, recordings from your interview (conducted via Zoom, scheduled via Calendly).
- Billing information — subscription and payment records. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Correspondence — emails you send us.
- Website — our website is a static site. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not use analytics cookies. Our hosting provider (Netlify) may collect standard server logs such as IP addresses for security and operations.
3. How we use your information
- To evaluate your application and conduct your interview.
- To assess compatibility and make hand-selected introductions — the core of the service.
- To manage your subscription, billing, and account.
- To communicate with you about the service.
- To keep members safe, enforce our Terms and Acceptable Use Policy, and comply with law.
4. How we share it — and how we don't
- We never sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- Your profile is never public. There is no directory and no browsing. Profile information is shared only with a specific proposed match, only after your interview, and only with the consent you give at signup.
- Service providers — we use Google Forms (applications), Calendly (scheduling), Zoom (interviews), Stripe (payments), and Netlify (website hosting). Each processes only what it needs to provide its service, under its own privacy policy.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information in response to valid legal process or emergencies as described in our Law Enforcement Guidelines.
- Interview recordings and notes are used solely for matchmaking and are never shared with other members or third parties, except as required by law.
5. Retention
We keep your information while your membership is active. If you cancel or your application is not accepted, you may request deletion of your information at any time; we will delete it except for records we must keep for legal, billing, or safety reasons (for example, records of a conduct report).
6. Your choices and rights
- You may request a copy of the information we hold about you.
- You may correct or update your information at any time by emailing us.
- You may request deletion of your information, subject to the exceptions above.
- You may withdraw consent to be considered for introductions at any time, which pauses your participation in matching.

7. Security
We limit access to member information to the matchmaker, use reputable providers with industry-standard security (Google, Zoom, Stripe, Netlify, Calendly), and protect accounts with strong authentication. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you as required by Massachusetts law.
8. Children
The service is for adults 18 and over only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it immediately.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be posted on this page. Material changes will be announced to members by email.
