Terms and Conditions

The agreement between you and Bashert Matchmaking when you apply, join, and accept introductions.

1. Who we are

Bashert Matchmaking ("we," "us," "the Service") is a personal matchmaking service operated by Bashert Events, serving Jewish singles in the Greater Boston area. By applying for membership, completing an interview, subscribing, or accepting an introduction, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must be legally single or legally free to form a dating relationship, and seeking a genuine romantic relationship.
  • All information you provide in your application and interview must be truthful, accurate, and kept up to date. Misrepresentation of identity, age, marital status, or intentions is grounds for immediate removal without refund.
  • We may accept or decline any application at our sole discretion.

3. The Service

Membership includes consideration for hand-selected introductions to other members. We do not guarantee any number of introductions, dates, or outcomes, and no relationship, engagement, or marriage is promised or implied. Introductions are made only when we believe two members may be compatible, and only with the consent of both members.

4. Billing and cancellation

  • Membership is a monthly subscription billed through Stripe: Standard at $24.99 per month, Priority Pass at $49.99 per month.
  • Founding members who join before August 17, 2026 are not charged until August 17, 2026, when matching begins. Members who join on or after that date are billed from their signup date.
  • You may cancel at any time through your Stripe subscription management link or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future charges; fees already charged are non-refundable except as described in our Refund Policy or where required by law.
  • Prices may change for new members; you will be notified before any change affects your existing subscription.

5. Member conduct — zero tolerance

We are committed to the safety and dignity of every member. The following are strictly prohibited anywhere in connection with the Service, and will result in immediate termination without refund, and referral to law enforcement where appropriate:

  • Human trafficking of any kind, including sex trafficking and sexual exploitation of any person.
  • Aiding, abetting, facilitating, or encouraging abuse of any kind — physical, sexual, emotional, or financial — of any person.
  • Any sexual or exploitative conduct involving minors, or any attempt to involve a minor in the Service.
  • Harassment, stalking, threats, coercion, or non-consensual contact with any member.
  • Prostitution, escort services, commercial sexual services, or solicitation thereof.
  • Fraud, financial scams, or solicitation of money from members.
  • Using the Service for any commercial, promotional, or non-romantic purpose.
  • Any activity that is illegal under local, state, or federal law.

If you experience or witness any of the above, contact us immediately at the email below. If you are in danger, call 911 first. See also our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6. Safety and personal responsibility

We personally interview every member, but we do not conduct criminal background checks, and an interview is not a guarantee of any person's character, conduct, or identity. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members. Use good judgment when meeting anyone: meet in public places, tell someone where you are going, and never send money to another member.

7. Privacy

Your profile is never public and never browsable. Information you share with us is used only to evaluate compatibility and make introductions, and is shared only with a specific proposed match, only with your consent. Interview notes and recordings are used solely for matchmaking and are not shared. We do not sell your personal information.

8. Termination

We may suspend or remove any member at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms, conduct that endangers or disrespects other members, or conduct inconsistent with the purpose of the Service. You may end your membership at any time by cancelling your subscription.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bashert Matchmaking and Bashert Events are not liable for the acts or omissions of any member, for any outcome of any introduction or date, or for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. We may update these Terms from time to time; the current version will always be posted on this page with its effective date. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance.
